10 web design trends for 2022
The animations, or small movements in some elements of the web are going to be more and more present.
You have to use them with caution so that your website doesn’t look like the aberration that Homer Simpson creates with a page full of GIFs.
What we seek to achieve is to draw the user’s attention to some element of the web , so we must define very well what is going to have movement and why.
As if all text is in bold, we are not highlighting any element, the same thing would happen with animations, if we abuse them we will distract the user instead of drawing their attention to what interests us.
2.- Use light colors next to a highlight color
This is not new, but I think it is important to include it in this list of web design trends for 2022 because it helps a lot to get conversions.
The flat design with white space gives any page or screen a sense of space and balance, and light colors encourage user engagement.
Think about how Apple and Google design their web pages: white background, black text, and a highlight color for the buttons.
3.- Split screen content
Dividing the screen into two clearly differentiated parts is another of the most used trends in web design in 2022.
This option offers many interesting possibilities, such as applying a different behavior to each side of the screen.
Remember that in web design you always have to guide the user towards a profitable destination and for this this trend is very effective and visually attractive and modern.
4.- Solid color blocks
Along with split screen, another way to expose content is to differentiate it into blocks of solid color.
Playing with the sizes, shapes and colors of the blocks opens up a whole world of creative possibilities causing the reader to react to such contrast.
In addition to solid colors, it is possible to use gradients of similar tones that serve to add depth and texture to the image.
5.- Large titles
Typography is always decisive when creating an impression on a website, which is why the use of very large font sizes in titles that will provide design with only typographic elements will be more and more frequent.
6.- Pattern backgrounds
Faced with simplicity, there are those who bet on the use of patterns in the backgrounds to differentiate themselves.
They can be organic or geometric mandala-like patterns, but they must always be displayed in a way that does not hinder the reading of the texts.
The texts will normally be included on a white background box with the pattern extending below this box.
7.- Images with 3D effect
In contrast to “flat-design” we will see more and more 3D generated images used to add depth to different elements of the web.
8.- Overlapping layers
The layering effect can be achieved by layering elements on top of each other so that they are partially hidden, or by allowing additional content to appear once clicked.
If done right, using white space and hierarchy between elements, the final composition will look balanced, uncluttered and legible.
9.- Chatbots replacing forms
Users are often too lazy to fill out forms, no matter how essential the information is to interact with the web.
The person who enters your page wants an interactive website with immediate responses and wants to solve their needs almost instantly. The Chatbots and their advanced system will allow the web design to adapt to provide the answers the user is looking for with the least possible friction.
If you want me to replace the outdated form on your website with a brand new chatbot, you
10.- Custom illustrations
Websites need visual elements such as illustrations, icons and photographs to be more attractive.
But think also these resources can be used to create and strengthen a brand identity.
